The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is one of the countries that have either been occupied or assimilated into the German Reich in Turning Point, along with it's capital, London

History[]

B-empire

The British Empire in the 1880's.

The United Kingdom was officially founded on 1 May 1707, from the previously warring countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, and afterwards became a major European power.

During the Industrial Revolution, the UK became a major world power as a mixture of heavy and progressive industry and colonialism helped create the British Empire, which by 1922, was the largest empire in history. The British had several possessions in North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and in Oceania. In 1914, Britain was part of the Triple Entente, but at the start of the First World War, Britain took a nuetral stance but realised that German dominance over Mainland Europe would not be in Britains interests, and declared war, in the following years, britain inflicted a war of attrition on the Germans and the Germans did the same, after the war, Britain took part in the occupation of the demilitarised Rheinland.

British Democracy (1707-1940)[]

When Britain realized Germany would not stop in it's conquests of Czechoslovakia and Austria and beyond, it tried to reason with Germany in peace treaties and appeasments, such as the Munich Agreement. When Germany invaded and occupied Poland and France by 1940, Britain's Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain surrendered to Germany on behalf of the humiliated and disgraced Britons, ending the war in Europe, five years earlier than our Timeline. After Britain's surrender, the Wehrmacht's advances were from then on unstoppable.

Current Status[]

Britain was assimilated into the Greater German Reich, and was occupied by German troops, and the SS was stationed in the Tower of London, a research centre for the  Atom Bomb, pioneered by a British scientist who later helped the American Resistance detsroy the bombs, destined for New York.

It is unknown what become of British colonies overseas, but it can be implied some declared independence (i.e. South Africa, Kenya, etc.) or occupied by Axis powers (i.e. Malaya, Burma, and India falling to the Japanese).

Future[]

What lies ahead for Britain and the occupied world is unknown, but Dan Carson's raid on the Tower of London may have alerted occupied citizen's to the fact that someone was resisting the Germans and gave the British hope and may have rallied them against the Germans with civil uprisings following, but all this is subject to speculation.
